Jerusalem
Basilios III was archbishop of Jerusalem (?-1935). He came from the town of Akhmīm and became a monk at Dayr Anbā Antūniyūs before serving in Jerusalem. When, after the death of Timotheos, the diocese was divided into two parts, he was appointed to the newly created see of Jerusalem, which consisted of the governorates of the Canal, Sharqiyyah, and Sinai, plus Jerusalem itself, and changed his name from Jacob Antony to Basilios III. He was consecrated archbishop in 1925. He remained archbishop for ten years until his death on 1 Bashans A.M. 1651. He is buried in the monastery of Saint Antony in Jaffa next to Basilios II.
